Creation Process: Digital Storytelling
It is probably the project that
we liked the most, since it was as important an aspect as it is the inclusion
inside and outside the educational field.
Inclusion is a theoretical
concept of pedagogy that refers to the way in which the school should respond
to diversity. Its basic assumption is that the school system must be modified
so that it responds to the needs of all students, instead of the students
having to adapt to the system, integrating it. The conscious and deliberate
choice for heterogeneity in school constitutes one of the central pillars of
the inclusive approach.
Therefore, we think it is as
important to know this term as to work it in the classroom with our students,
and through a story it is a very good option, since it captures the attention
of the students.
Creating the story, we first
selected a problem related to inclusion, in this case it was that one of our
characters was faced with various problems and along the way he was finding
friends who could help him. Each character in our story was marked by
characteristics:
- Mole: he was blind.
- Pol, the snail: the main character.
- Michael: it was a worm and he could give Pol the silk.
- Ben: the porcupine.
- Holly: the turkey.
The materials we use in our
history were all created by us. First we designed the scenario that was a
forest. We did it on a cardboard base, drawing the trees. Then, we create all
the characters, we also create different faces to change the facial gestures:
sad faces, happy faces, etc.
Finally, we must mention the type
of story we have worked on. Our story is about a storytelling worked through a
slowmotion, since we considered it to be one of the easiest techniques to work
but one of the most original. In short, the story was shot by photographing
each of the different scenes that appear in the story, putting it all together later
so that it will be followed.
